Pilates

Alison was classically trained in Pilates in New York City with Jennifer Deluca who was certified by Romana Kryzanowska and Caitlin Cook who was certified by Madeline Black. She has always been grateful for the breadth of conceptualization she gained from her early training.

 

Yoga

Strongly influenced by her studies of alignment through dance and the optimal functioning of the human body through Pilates, she brings a lifetime of curiosity and awareness to her teaching.  Alison was certified to teach Forrest Yoga in 2001 and also has a Vinyasa certification through Laughing Lotus in San Francisco

Pre & Post-natal

A myth exists that pregnant women cannot do Pilates, but the truth is while the specific exercises may need to change or be modified to serve the pregnant body, the foundations of Pilates safely and effectively support the the pregnancy process, as well as prepare the body for delivery.

 

Wellness

After a lifetime of studying and teaching movement, Alison wanted to know about more than just the physical so she moved to San Francisco to study Somatic Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies and was awarded a Masters Degree in 2009. Through consultation sessions, she will help you determine, design, and attain your wellness goals.
